How to Safely Update the SkyVerge plugin for WooCommerce CyberSource Gateway
Introduction
Welcome! This guide is created to support merchants using the SkyVerge WooCommerce CyberSource Gateway plugin.
Please follow the steps below carefully. Each section includes screenshots to assist you through the process.
1. How to Check Your Current Plugin Version
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.

- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
- Locate WooCommerce CyberSource Gateway in the list.
Check the version number listed under the plugin name.
In this example, the current version is 2.8.2, and a newer version (2.9.0) is available.
2. How to Check if Your System Meets the Minimum Requirements
Step 1: Get the Minimum Requirements
- Visit the official documentation page (Find Requirements): https://woocommerce.com/document/cybersource-payment-gateway/#requirements
- For example, this is the requirement for version 2.9.0:
- WooCommerce 4.3+
- WordPress 5.6+
- PHP 8.0+
Step 2: Verify Your System Configuration
Go to WooCommerce > Status.
3. Backup Your Data Before Proceeding
Before making any updates, it is strongly recommended that you backup your website and transaction data. This ensures you can restore your site if anything goes wrong.
Note: Live Payments does not provide backup services or guarantee the effectiveness of any third-party backup plugins. Please consult your hosting provider for professional backup solutions.
4. Update Your System to Meet Minimum Requirements
If your system does not meet the requirements:
- Upgrade your PHP version via your hosting control panel or by contacting your hosting provider.
- Update WordPress and WooCommerce to the latest supported versions.
- Ensure all core components are compatible with the updated plugin version.
- Troubleshooting: WooCommerce and SkyVerge Plugin Support
Note: We recommend performing this upgrade on a staging or mirror site first. Once fully tested, you can replicate the setup on your live site.
5. Install the Latest Plugin Version
Once your system is ready:
- Ensure your store meets the plugin requirements.
- Download the Latest Plugin Version from your WooCommerce dashboard.
- Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload and select the ZIP file you just downloaded.
- Click Install Now and then Activate.
- Once the update is complete, verify that the plugin is now showing the latest version.
