How do I process a transaction using a magnetic stripe card?

The Live Payments Integrated device supports magnetic stripe transactions. The magnetic stripe reader is located on the right-hand side of the device.

For steps on how to process a transaction using a magnetic stripe card, follow the prompts below:

  • Position a magnetic stripe card in the card reader with the stripe facing inward towards the keypad.
  • To ensure a proper read of the magnetic stripe card, please insert the magnetic stripe card from the top of the unit.
  • If there is no response from your device, or "Card error" is displayed, swipe the card again. You may be required to swipe the card faster or slower.
  • If your customer has attempted to swipe a card with a chip, the device will prompt you to insert the card.
